Are you in the fat burning zone?
Dieters who eat less than 100 grams of carbohydrates daily lose an average of four pounds more fat a month than those whose carb intake is higher.
As carbohydrate intake goes down, so do levels of insulin - a hormone that signals your body to store fat. Reduce your intake of carbohydrate such as potatoes. It is found that people who eat one serving of potatoes three or four times a week are at an increased risk of developing diabetes, it can also damage the cells that produce insulin, not to mention all your efforts to lose weight or burn fats.
A recent australian study discovers that cyclist who ate a low carbohydrate diet for a week burned 45 percent more fat compare to cyclist on a high carbohydrate diet. The boost in fat burning is a result from an improved ability of the muscles to extract energy from fat stores on a low carb diet.
