SIA to fly its first Airbus A380

By Jeffery Seah | Blog , Tobishoku

Finally, the wait will be over soon. With 3 months to go before SIA starts flying the Airbus 380, the carrier’s first fully-fitted and painted superjet glides out of the factory in Hamburg, Germany, set for its final test. SIA will be the first of 15 airlines to get deliveries in October 2007 after a delay of almost two years. Follow by Qantas and Emirates in August 2008.

The A-380 is designed to carry 853 passengers in a single class configuration or 555 passengers in a three-class configuration. But SIA will be fitting its 19 A-380 with 480 seats to enhance passenger comfort. It is heard that the airline plans to use its first aircraft on its Singapore- Sydney route and subsequent deliveries for Singapore-London, Singapore-Hong kong-San Francisco, as well as direct flights to Paris and Frankfurt.

Did You Know…..

1. The A380 is the largest passenger airliner in the world.
2. In November 2005, the A380 embarked on a tour of Southeast Asia and Australia for promotional and long-haul flight testing. Singapore was one of its stops.
3. The same aircraft, serial number 001, flew to Singapore again in 2006 to participate in the Asian Aerospace exhibition, in full Singapore Airlines livery.
4. The A380 has a 50 percent lower cabin noise than a 747, and a lower cabin altitude of 5000ft, both features are expected to reduce the effects of jetlag.
5. Different parts of the aircraft are built in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom and brought to the assembly hall in Toulouse in France by surface transportation due the their massive size. After assembly, the     aircrafts are flown to Hamburg to be furnished and painted.
6. Emirates made the largest order of 55 A380, second in line is Qantas 20 and followed closely by Singapore Airlines 19. In total, 174 Airbus A380 has been ordered.
7. There is ONE unidentified VIP customer, who made an order of one A380 for personal use. And the VIP is not me.
8. There are 16 exits on the A380. On a evacuation drill conducted in 2006,  one man broke his leg and 32 other people suffered minor injuries when undergoing the evacuation drill. Despite the injuries, the plane passed its test, where they managed to get all the 853 people and 20 crew out of the aircraft in 78 seconds, using only 8 of the exit doors

Lose fat forever, with exercise

By Jeffery Seah | Fitness

Lose fat forever, without exercise

Hello…

So you want to lose that body fats but you don’t wanna exercise. Is that possible? There is a way, lets have a look.

To lose fat, there must be a calorie deficit. That is something we cannot change. Except for the lucky few who are genetically gifted with super-charge metabolism, most of us have to find a way to create a calorie deficit.

One way is to increase the amount of calories you burn through exercise, and the other is to decrease your calorie intake ( eat less ) .

Jane lives an active sporty lifestyle. she does yoga, volleyball, blading and body combat classes. She consumes about 2000 calories per day, but her total daily energy expenditure is 2500 calories. As a result, she loses weight.

Jenna spends her free time sleeping, reading, watching tv and her only exercise will be housework. As she is not very active, her body only generates a total daily energy expenditure of 2000 calories. To lose weight, she consumes only about 1500 calories per day.

Both Jane and Jenna has a calorie deficit of 500, so both of them will lose weight. While Jane can continue to eat normally, Jenna has to continue to maintain that low intake of calories in order to lose weight. Who do you think can last? Burning fats with exercise or starving the fat with diet? Are you more like Jane or Jenna?

The most effective approach to fat loss is to eat more and exercise more, resulting in a turbo-charged metabolism….. but most people do the opposite. They slash their calories to starvation levels.

  • Dieting decrease your metabolic rate, exercise raises it
  • Dieting puts you in starvation mode, exercise don’t
  • Dieting is harmful, exercise is not
  • Dieting increases fat storing hormones and decreases fat burning hormones
  • Dieting without exercise results in up to 50% of the weight loss to come from lean body mass (so you look slim and flabby, not tone)
  • Dieting triggers hormones that promotes a big appetite, you may end up eating more

So here you are, the facts about losing weight without exercise. Have you ever stick to a diet program and lasted for more than 6 months? Or 3? Dieting is not for life. But with exercise and proper nutrition, you can still stay slim forever.

Stewardess Raped in hotel room ( part 1 )

By Jeffery Seah | Tobishoku

In 8th APR 2003, two stewardess from Garuda Indonesia checked into the Grand Hyatt Singapore, together with their colleagues. After collecting their room keys they head straight for the lift. The ladies, aged 30 and 31, were not on their guard  that an indian man had followed them into the lift.

When they reached the 16th floor which their rooms were located, they should have been more cautious that this indian man had followed them out of the lift, but they were not.  After opening their room door, the ladies used a bag to prevent their room doors from closing, while retrieving the other luggage. It was at this crucial moment that 28 yr old Suresh Nair from Malaysia forced them into their room and locked the door. He had with him a fake pistol and was able to prevent them from screaming or running away. In total, he raped the 31yr old TWICE and molested her colleague THRICE. He also got them to pose naked and took lewd pictures of them, threatening that if they report him to the police, he will post their pictures on the Internet. One month after the ordeal, the 31 yr old woman discovered she was pregnant and had to go for an abortion. …. Justice was served to Suresh Nair for his crime. He will be in jail for a long time and cane the maximum of 24 strokes. But what about the horrifying events that took place on that day? Will the two stewardesses be able to carry on their daily life as if nothing had happen? Will taking the lift with an strange man ever be the same again? The emotional trauma and scars of a rape victim can be with them for a lifetime. The rape victim was unable to go back to flying. She sometimes becomes hysterical just thinking about the incident. Her husband said she was no longer the cheerful person she used to be. And she avoided sex with him like he was the rapist. What are the precautions you can take? Did you know that even if you think you are in danger, alone, with no weapon and no one nearby for help, you could still use some simple but effective tricks to deter the rapist?

Want to hear the shocking truth about how some rapist choose their victims? In my next post " Stewardess raped in hotel room (part 2), I shall share with you some tips and tricks as well as reveal to you how a rapist target their victims.
